Dr.Venkata Lakshmi is a full time consultant Neonatologist at Rainbow Children’s Hospital. She did her undergraduation and Dch from Christian Medical College, Vellore. She was awarded several merit certificates and winner of sommerville prize in surgery, Captain Jai Sing Jadhav prize for best post graduate student and best sports woman of the college. She did her MD in Paediatrics from Egmore Children’s Hospital, Madras.
Dr.Lakshmi did her neonatology training for two years at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia and Fellowship in Neonatology at St.Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University, St.Louis.
After returning to India she joined Rainbow Children’s Hospital since its inception. For the past six years she is practicing neonatology. She has successfully treated many preterm babies and complicated neonatal problems. Her special area of interest is extreme prematurity.
