Seamless support from diagnosis to post treatment care
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is the most widely used form of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). It involves retrieving eggs from a woman's ovaries, fertilising them with sperm in a laboratory, and transferring the resulting embryo into the uterus. The term "in vitro" means "in glass," referring to fertilisation occurring outside the body in a controlled lab setting.
Stimulation: Hormonal injections over 12–14 days to increase egg production
Egg Retrieval: Surgical egg collection 35 hours after the HCG trigger injection
Sperm Preparation: Semen sample collected and processed simultaneously
Fertilisation: Eggs and sperm combined in a laboratory incubator
Embryo Transfer: Embryo placed into the uterus on day 3-5; pregnancy test at 15 days

IVF or in vitro fertilization is the most common type of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology). The process bypasses some infertility causes like male sperm abnormality and irregularity of ovulation or fallopian tube in females to create an embryo. The IVF process basically involves the woman’s egg being retrieved surgically and being mixed with the donor or male partner’s sperm in a laboratory for the fertilization to take place. The embryo or the fertilized egg is allowed to grow for 2-5 days before it is transferred back to the womb of the woman.
IVF is a safe treatment for infertility and is the ideal method for helping couples with infertility problems conceive. Though there may be a few mild symptoms of cramping, bloating, etc after the procedure, most women do not experience any pain during IVF and it is completely safe. BirthRight Fertility by Rainbow Hospitals provides the best IVF treatments in India with multiple fertility centers established in cities like - Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Vizag, Vijayawada, and many more coming up.
Generally, if you have been trying to get pregnant for a year or more but have been unsuccessful in doing so, we recommend you consult with our fertility specialists. In any given month, there is a 20% chance that a fertile couple will be able to conceive a child. As a result, around 90% of couples within a year of trying to get pregnant.
For the remaining 10% of couples, we advise you to consult our fertility experts. In cases of women over the age of 35, fertility treatment evaluation is recommended after failure of conceiving after 6 months of attempt. For women over 40, you should meet our fertility doctor as soon as you decide to try having a child.
To determine whether IVF is a suitable treatment for a patient or not, several factors come into play. Following are the factors that might make you an appropriate candidate for the treatment:
IVF success rates vary by age: broadly, rates are higher for women under 35 and decline progressively after 35. Your treating specialist at BirthRight will provide a personalised success probability based on your specific diagnostic profile.

There are a few restrictions that apply when a patient is undergoing IVF or In Vitro Fertilization. Our doctors will detail you regarding these restrictions beforehand.
The IVF or In Vitro Fertilization process takes around 4-6 weeks before the egg is retrieved. Then, the embryos are implanted after 2-5 days. Patients may not achieve pregnancy in the first IVF cycle itself. In fact, a lot of patients commonly require multiple IVF cycles before they get pregnant.
One IVF cycle nearly takes four weeks to complete. A pregnancy test is performed after about two weeks of the embryo being placed in the uterus. Prior to the commencement of the IVF cycle, a basic health check is mandatory. This assessment generally included pelvic ultrasound, hormonal assay, uterine cavity assessment (SHG/Hysteroscopy), catheter trial, laparoscopy (if required), and semen culture and analysis. The stimulation protocol is planned according to the age of the woman, hormonal profile, and ovarian reserve.
Here’s a look at the steps involved in the treatment process.
A pregnancy test is performed 15 days after the embryo transfer. During this period, the woman is advised to continue with her regular daily activities, although the strenuous activity is best avoided during this period.
