Environmental Social governance is governance that gives healthcare a role and responsibility in promoting a democratic, fair, healthy and sustainable economy and society. It begins with processes within healthcare institutions that encourage organizational functionality, cohesion and responsibility through involvement of staff, patients and the public, and extends out to form links with those, often on other continents, whose labour and resources help us in our pursuit of health. It is governance that brings theories of the social and environmental determinants of health into the functioning and goals of healthcare institutions.

Environmental Activities

Our mission is to protect the environment from Global Environmental issues like Climate Change and Global warming by mitigating/Reducing/avoiding of Carbon emissions (Carbon footprint Reductions), reduction of wastage ( Resource Optimization), conservation of Energies and Water through our Hospital Operational practices, including bio-medical and non-biomedical waste management. Rainbow Hospital is fully compliance with the national and Local environmental regulations and serious implementation of the plans developed in line with the our EHSS policy.

CARBON EMISSION DETAILS 2021-22

Carbon footprint quantifies the total greenhouse gas emissions attributed to direct and indirect operational activities and allows to calculate the total impact on the climate with technological adverse. Rainbow with its sound Operational practices and adoptive green technologies trying to reduce Carbon footprint impact on Environment at maximum extent. We tried to avoid and reduced Carbon emission in FY -2021-22

In this scenario Rainbow hospitals have reduced 1120 Tons of Co2 Emissions in a year by direct reduction and 1990 Tons by indirect means
Through the Energy Management Rainbow hospitals have bring down 750 tons of Co2 emissions in a year
Rainbow hospitals Renewable Energy practices are best and avoided 374 tons of Carbon emissions in a year

CARBON EMISSION DETAILS 2022-23

Rainbow Hospitals for the period 2022 -23 there is direct Carbon emission Reductions from Solar water heaters of rainbow group & Energy Savings of Heart institute, here we avoided 573 Metric Tons and 90 Tons of Carbon Emission respectively.
Indirectly by Energy conservations of Rainbow group we have avoided 3127 Tons of Carbon emissions by reducing per day/bed Energy consumption levels when compare with previous year.
Rainbow hospitals through Renewable Energy practices avoided 314 tons of Carbon emissions in reporting year.
Total Carbon emissions avoided across group is 4104 Metric tons of Co2 equitant.

Electrical points for Electrical Vehicle (EV Vehicles):

Battery charging provisions have been provided at all units to encourage EV vehicle to reduce GHG, we are metering units for charging on hourly basis. Electrical Points going to be provided to all Employees with nominal charges to promote Electrical vehicles.

Hybrid STP @ Vikrampuri
In new premises of Vikrampuri Hybrid version of STP has been commissioned with capacity of 70KLD and as been using from end of May 2021
In this Technology- Natural process of treating plant- recurring expenses are very minimal-Like Electricity & Machinery, sound, No sound with Blower
