Dr. Kancharla received advanced training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at leading institutions in the UK, including Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and King’s College London.
His international training exposed him to world-class, integrated models of pediatric healthcare and helped shape his vision for bringing high standards of specialized healthcare to India.

Rainbow Children’s Hospital was founded in 1999 in Hyderabad to bridge that gap. It was not just an institution; it was a mission to bring comprehensive, specialized pediatric and perinatal care to India.
What started as a single hospital has now evolved into a pan-India network offering comprehensive healthcare across fertility, women’s health, maternity, perinatal, neonatal and pediatric care.
Over the last two decades, Dr. Kancharla has led Rainbow’s journey of innovation, clinical excellence, and compassion, ensuring that the organisation is not only healing children but also empowering parents, building trust, and shaping healthier futures.
Contribution to Women, Fertility, Pediatric & Perinatal Care
Dr. Kancharla has been a pioneer in integrating comprehensive perinatal care within pediatric hospitals, redefining how care is delivered to newborns and mothers in India.
Rainbow was among the first in India to integrate comprehensive perinatal care within a children’s hospital, recognizing that healthy beginnings start with mothers.
The organisation’s vision has since expanded to include fertility and women’s healthcare, enabling Rainbow to support families across the healthcare journey — from fertility and conception, through pregnancy and childbirth, to newborn and childhood care.
