Dr. N Prasanna kumar is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Health City, Kailash Metta at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Visakhapatnam. He is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He has completed super specialty degree for treating children and teens suffering from Neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disabilities /Mental retardation, Dyslexia/ learning disorders,)sleep disorders and Behavioral disorders (Depression, Anxiety /stress disorders, Mood disorders, Suicidal behavior and Psychosis).
Dr. Prasanna Kumar has completed DM in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from Prestigious Institute NIMHANS, Bengaluru. He is the first and only DM child and adolescent psychiatrist practicing in Andhra Pradesh. He is one among the few in India. After completed his postgraduate training, he worked under legendary and senior Psychiatrists. Later he worked for considerable number of years as Psychiatrist in Major Mental hospitals including IMH Erragadda, Hyderabad and Government Hospital for Mental care, Visakhapatnam (Visakhapatnam Mental hospital) leading to significant expertise in dealing with difficult and Resistant Psychiatric disorders. Dr. Prasanna Kumar also had working experience in rep Private hospitals including Mahaveer Hospitals and NRI hospital.
He was also a Speaker at Psychiatry conferences and CME'S including World Psychiatry conferences (WPA, WASP), National, Zonal and state level Psychiatry conferences. He also had research interest and had publications in Peer reviewed journals and had authored chapters in one of the Reputed textbooks of Psychiatry.
