Dr. K. Radhakrishna is a highly respected and accomplished pediatrician in Visakhapatnam, bringing over 40 years of distinguished experience in clinical pediatrics, academic medicine, and leadership in child healthcare. Widely recognized for his depth of clinical expertise and commitment to ethical, evidence-based care, he is regarded as one of the city’s most trusted pediatrician and a mentor to generations of medical professionals.
An alumnus of the prestigious Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Dr. Radhakrishna completed his MBBS, DCH, and MD in Pediatrics with exceptional academic distinction. His scholastic excellence earned him numerous accolades, including multiple gold medals, the Best Outgoing Student Award, and the highest marks in MD Pediatrics under Andhra University, reflecting a strong foundation in both theoretical and clinical medicine.
Dr. Radhakrishna began his professional journey as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Andhra Medical College and served as a Civil Assistant Surgeon at King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. In 1985, he established a private pediatric practice that has since grown into a trusted center of care for countless families across generations, known for compassionate, comprehensive, and child-centered healthcare.
His clinical interests encompass a broad range of pediatric subspecialties, including child neurology, nutrition and growth disorders, neonatal dermatology, pediatric musculoskeletal conditions, gastrointestinal illnesses, infectious diseases, and pediatric emergencies. His holistic approach ensures not only disease management but also long-term developmental well-being.
A long-standing and active member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Dr. Radhakrishna has played a pivotal role in advancing academic pediatrics. He has served as Scientific Advisor to IAP, Visakhapatnam, for over 25 years and has been instrumental in organizing landmark academic events such as AP PEDICON 2000 and 2008, significantly contributing to pediatric education at the state level.
An eminent academician and speaker, Dr. Radhakrishna has delivered over 600 academic lectures, participated in more than 200 national and international conferences, and addressed over 1,200 professional meetings across IMA and IAP forums. He has also published scholarly articles in national medical journals. Notably, he has received special training from the IAP to educate school teachers on Poor Scholastic Performance, highlighting his commitment to community-based child development initiatives beyond hospital practice.
