Dr. Lakshmi Chirumamilla is an esteemed fertility consultant at BirthRight Fertility by Rainbow Hospitals, Hyderabad, with 25 years of experience in infertility and gynecology across India and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Lakshmi has extensive experience in managing patients with various infertility-related conditions, including recurrent implantation failure, poor ovarian response, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and endometriosis. She is also trained in the diagnosis and treatment of male factor infertility, which can often be an overlooked contributor to infertility in couples. With a strong focus on patient-centred care, Dr. Lakshmi has helped over 10,000 babies come into the world and understands the emotional and medical challenges couples face when trying to build their families.
Dr. Chirumamilla also performs fertility-enhancing procedures, including both diagnostic and operative hysteroscopies, as part of comprehensive fertility treatment. She also has extensive experience in surgical sperm retrieval procedures such as PESA (Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration) and TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration).
Dr. Chirumamilla is actively involved in teaching and mentoring and mentors a new fellow each year, sharing her expertise and experience with the next generation of fertility specialists. She has also guided fellows in conducting research and preparing presentations for various national and international conferences. Her academic contributions include research on post-hysteroscopy outcomes in patients with previous IVF failures, presented at the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction Annual Conference in Gurgaon in 2017, and research on predisposing factors for ectopic pregnancy in ART cycles, presented at the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India conference in Hyderabad in 2019. She also contributed to research comparing Day 5 embryo transfer with Day 3 embryo transfer followed by culture to Day 5, which was accepted for presentation at the ASPIRE Conference. In addition, she has investigated and contributed to published case studies.
Dr. Chirumamilla is a regularly invited speaker at national and local conferences and actively participates in conducting infertility and IUI workshops for fellow gynecologists. She has also contributed to professional and academic organisations, including serving as a Scientific Committee Member for the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) 2020 Annual Conference and playing an active role in its organising committee.
