Dr. Prerana Modani is a Medical Geneticist at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, with specialised training in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics. She completed her MBBS at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur, followed by an MD in Pediatrics from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. She subsequently pursued DM in Medical Genetics at AIIMS, New Delhi, after securing Rank 1 in the INI-SS entrance examination.
Her clinical focus includes rare and undiagnosed genetic disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, neurogenetic conditions, congenital malformations, and syndromic evaluation. She also specialises in antenatal and preconception genetic evaluation and counselling, fetal genetic assessment, and newborn screening follow-up.
Dr. Prerana has expertise in genomic diagnostics, including clinical exome and genome analysis, genetic variant interpretation, and the evaluation of complex cases that remain undiagnosed despite initial investigations. She integrates detailed clinical assessment with molecular genetic insights to facilitate accurate diagnoses, guide further investigations, and support personalised management and genetic counselling for individuals and families.
She has presented her research at national and international scientific conferences, including the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) and the Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics (SIAMG). Passionate about research, patient education, and public awareness, she is committed to making genetic information accessible and understandable.
