Dr. Suchitra Gopinath is a dedicated Consultant Pediatric Orthopedician committed to providing specialised orthopedic care for children. She has extensive experience in pediatric trauma, neuromuscular conditions, and corrective surgeries, and is skilled in managing complex cases, including open and closed fractures, bone and joint infections, Ponseti management, developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), cerebral palsy-related deformities, and more.
Dr. Suchitra Gopinath completed her MS in Orthopedics from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, followed by advanced trauma training at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, one of India’s leading centres for orthopedic trauma care. She further enhanced her expertise through multiple pediatric orthopedic fellowships in the United Kingdom, including at Sheffield Children’s Hospital (Pediatric Orthopedics & Neuromuscular Disorders), the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London (Pediatric Orthopedics & Trauma). She also holds the MRCS (England) qualification and is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Her clinical and academic journey spans multiple countries and prestigious institutions, including fellowships in Sheffield and Glasgow, alongside training in government hospitals in India. With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Suchitra Gopinath emphasizes empathy, careful clinical decision-making, and the highest standards of patient safety.
Dr. Suchitra Gopinath has extensive experience in training junior doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), and theatre staff in pediatric orthopedics. Her academic experience includes delivering lectures, overseeing clinical examinations, providing hands-on surgical training, and supervising research projects. She has also conducted specialized training sessions on navigation-assisted knee replacement and fundamental fracture management techniques.
An avid reader and writer, Dr. Suchitra is passionate about expanding knowledge and intellectual curiosity. She has authored several orthopedic publications and regularly attends scientific conferences. Fluent in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, she also teaches online music classes to children with Autism, reflecting her commitment to holistic care and community engagement.
