Dr Somu Sivabalan is a renowned pediatrician and pulmonologist from Chennai, with over two decades of experience. He is an alumnus from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. Besides this he has had speciality training in the department of Pediatric Pulmonology at institutes in Australia and the United Kingdom. Academically, he has published 66 articles in indexed journals and 35 chapters in textbooks. He has authored: Essentials of Pediatric Pulmonology United Airway Disease and Editor of Scott’s Pediatricks- Specialty series. Pediatric Pulmonology. Was a Writing Committee Member of IAP “Asthma By Consensus” (ABC), a national consensus document on childhood asthma management (2011), Standard Treatment Guidelines on Persistent Bacterial Bronchitis (PBB); 2022. He is a resource person for various national modules for practicing pediatrician’s in common respiratory problems and a member of the Evidence Based Guidelines Development Group (EBGDG) of Indian Academy of Pediatrics- National respiratory Chapter (IAP-NRC).
