Dr.Rakshay Shetty is the lead PediatricIntensivist at the 24-bed tertiary care PICU in Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bengaluru. Heshares the responsibility of patient care and training with the Pediatric intensive care and Emergency medicine team. He completed his training in Pediatrics from PGIMER, Chandigarh. After completing his residency, he worked as a senior resident in Pediatric Intensive Care at the same institute before moving to the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto to complete his Fellowship Program in Intensive Care. He was awarded a Fellowship in Point-of-Care Ultrasound from the American Ultrasound Leadership Academy after completing the one-year training program. He is working as a Consultant PediatricIntensivist since 2010 for Rainbow Children’s Hospitals.

As a founder member of the Indian Pediatric Simulation Society, PediSTARS, he has been instrumental in spreading simulation-based training through conferences and workshops throughout the country. He has (delete) represented India globally in the field of simulation-based education through invited lectures at international conferences. He was invited asa visiting professor at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has also contributed to the book chapters related to the practice of Pediatric critical care medicine and has a few international research publications to his credit. He is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Pediatric Critical Care. As a member of IAP, the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the IAP Intensive Care Chapter, he has (delete) delivered many lectures and conducted workshops on a national level.

He also volunteered as a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist for the camps held by Mending Kids International (MKI) and the International Child Heart Foundation (ICHF) for their missions in Africa. In addition to his enthusiasm for Simulation, he has a keen interest in the field of point-of-care (hyphenated) Ultrasound, Cardiopulmonary Interactions, and Neurointensive care.
