The Division of Pediatric Nephrology treats children with all types of problems of the urinary tract system including:
- Hematuria (blood in urine)
- Proteinuria (protein in urine)
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Urinary Tract Infection (kidney and bladder)
- KidneyStones
- Enuresis (bedwetting)
- Acute Kidney Failure
- Chronic Kidney Failure
- Electrolyte and Acid-base Disturbances
The therapies and procedures available include:
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Kidney Biopsy
- Dialysis (peritoneal and hemodialysis)
- Continuous Renal Replacement
The Pediatric Peritoneal Dialysis Center provides training, support, and comprehensive follow-up for home peritoneal dialysis (CAPD and CCPD) for children with end-stage renal failure. Efforts are made to minimize disruptions in the child's usual lifestyle. Children of all ages, including infants, can be successfully dialyzed.
